Welcome to CAP 2026!

 Join us in CAP’s 23rd Year.

 See below for some of our planned trips.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the water.

How To Book

The frequency between trips can be a bit variable (to fit in with the availability of our trip leaders) but we always aim to offer a varied and action packed programme of events.  


Some trips maybe subject to minimum or maximum numbers or need a certain level of ability to participate.

Sunday 11th January

River Wey .. The Shalford Loop

    Twisty Flowing backwater and main River paddle  

Weekend 16th - 18th January

Mid Wales - White Water weekend

  … Our first WW trip of 2026 

Sunday 8th February

The River Chelmer Estuary

  Join us as we ride the incoming tide from Maldon on the Essex coast around the Chelmer Estuary and then along the Chelmer River/Canal. This will need to be an early start so as to catch the early Essex tide     

Weekend 20-22nd February

Dartmoor White Water Weekend

Classic WW paddling on the rugged Moors. Differing Rivers will be paddled depending on each group’s ability.    

Sunday 22nd March

River Mole

 A lovely twisty river, trees to limbo around, a big weir to slide down. Paddle around the foothills as Boxhill towers above you. 

21-28th March -Scotland

White Water Expedition to the WEST Coast of Scotland

 …Sample some of the UK’s best paddling but visiting local sights on days off 

28th March - 4th April - Scotland

White Water Expedition to the EAST Coast of Scotland …

  …More of the UK’s best paddling and wonderful Scottish sights to visit 

Monday 6th April

Rivers Arun and other. Easter fun!

 On and around the ancient eight arched bridge at Stopham in Sussex. A paddle through the lovely South Downs, Slalom around the Bridge looking for the Bunnies , Catch them and nibble away at their chocolate ears then spend the afternoon Sliding down and playing on a gentle sloping Weir + a riverside Pub garden to finish 

17th-19th April

Beginners Whitewater trip to North Wales.

  A great opportunity to those of you wanting to gently sample the joys of Whitewater for the first time. 

Sunday 26th April

Basingstoke Canal..

 A lovely tree lined trip, suitable for beginners but all welcome ! 

Weekend 1st - 3rd May

Norfolk Broads

  Barton Turf, Norfolk Broads. A lovely weekend of Camping, Canoes and Kayaks  

Sunday 10th May

River Medway

   .. Paddle thru lovely Kent countryside and hopefully a chance to shoot three steep Canoe shoots, flying down  and splashing into the waters below

Sunday 24th May

The Burpham Loop

 BANK HOLIDAY paddle on the River Wey, The Burpham Loop and onward to Send.   

Weekend 22nd-25th May

Canoefest

Canoefest, Cirencester. Join the Open Canoe Association for a long weekend of leisurely and very sociable Camping and Canoeing.   

Sunday 7th June

River Wey Pyford Lock to Brooklands

If enough water we'll paddle this twisty narrow backwater trip. If insufficient water then Byfleet to Weybridge   

Weekend 12th-14th June

The Canche, France

 A two day trip to Northern France paddling the River Canche Riverside camping, mainly Grade 1 or 2 flowing water with rapids and shoots. 

Sunday 28th June

Thames, St Patricks Stream, Loddon and Hennerton

   Our favourite Summer trip !Paddling four waterways on a figure of eight route. Ranging from narrow streams to wide rivers with lots of boating, a beautiful Summer trip.

Our boats and kit

We have a range of club boats, paddles, spray decks and cagoules that you’re welcome to use on any club trips. This isn’t exhaustive, but here’s a list of kit you may need on trips. Ask the trip organiser in advance if you’re not sure what to bring or don’t have a piece of kit that you think you’ll need:

  • Buoyancy Aid
  • Helmet 
  • Kayak
  • Paddle
  • Spray deck 
  • Cagoule
  • Footwear (e.g. wetsuit boots. Trainers are not recommended)
  • Wet / Dry suit (dependent on season and activity / personal preference)
  • Spare clothes (in a dry bag if you have one)
  • Food & drink (a thermos flask of hot drink is ideal in colder weather)
